Carpet cleaning is essential to maintaining good indoor air quality. Carpets should be professionally cleaned every 12-18 months. When done properly, cleaning extends the life of the carpet. The key to proper cleaning is the rinse. If any cleaning residue is left behind, the carpets will get dirtier faster than before you had them cleaned. Many companies do this to save time. Our methods
We follow Shaw and 3M carpet cleaning recommendations by using the hot-water extraction method, also known as steam cleaning. This is the only process that both sanitizes the carpet and leaves no residue. We utilize this method for both commercial and residential.
We also employ a dry-cleaning method. We use this method as a second step after steam cleaning for heavily-soiled carpet or as a stand-alone method on lightly-soiled commercial carpet. It is not recommended on residential carpet because it only cleans the top of the carpet.
Where we clean
We do most of our work on Portland’s west side, but we work in the entire Metro area. We have powerful truck-mounted machines to clean residential and ground-floor commercial properties. These machines hook up to a hose bib on site, heat the water for cleaning, and simultaneously vacuum all water and debris from the carpet.
For commercial jobs that cannot be reached with a truck-mount system as well as high-rise apartments, we use a portable cleaning system. It can fit in an elevator and has it’s own built-in heating and vacuum system.
We price carpet cleaning based on the square footage, not by the room, since no two rooms are the same size. On a per foot basis, commercial carpet cleaning is cheaper than residential since the carpet is easier to clean and there is generally very little furniture to move.
