While there are many companies that clean carpets, few specialize in upholstery cleaning. While the principles of removing soil remain the same, the approach and chemistry is vastly different.

Improper chemistry in carpet cleaning may be not be immediately apparent, while the same problem in upholstery cleaning can alter the feel of the fabric and even change its color. While carpet is made of only a few different types of fibers, upholstery fabric can be woven into literally thousands of different combinations. Therefore, the importance of experience and training in proper upholstery cleaning can not be overemphasized.

We use a variety of methods and chemistry to clean upholstery. Most fabrics, like most of our clothes, can be cleaned with water. The wet-cleaning method is very effective at removing stains. In upholstery cleaning however, very little water is used so as not to affect backing materials. Moisture is only misted on to the upholstery fabric, then immediately vacuumed off. Some upholstery fabrics, such as haitian cotton, respond better to an even lower amount of moisture . For these types of couches we use a foamy mixture made specifically for this type of fabric. Some upholstery fabrics, silk in particular, are best cleaned without water, using dry upholstery cleaning products. We can perform all of these upholstery services at your convenience, in home.

Q. What type of upholstery do you clean?

A. We can clean literally any type of woven fabric on any surface. This includes fabric cubicle partitions, chairs, recliners, loveseats, sofas, mattresses, cushions, and automobile seats. We specialize in microfiber, using specialized equipment and techniques to make it look like new.

Q. How long does it take to dry?

A. Because we use such a small amount of moisture in cleaning upholstery furniture, it will dry much faster than carpet does. Depending on the process used, most upholstery fabric dries within an hour.

Q. Do you recommend fabric protector?

A. Absolutely! Fabric does not have built-in stain protection from the factory like carpet. Upholstered furniture is therefore much more susceptible to permanent staining. Having fabric protection applied is absolutely necessary to keeping your furniture looking good. Fabric protectors do not hurt the fabric in any way. They simply protect it from both dry and liquid soil. Even if protector was applied at the time of purchase, it would to be good to have it reapplied from time to time since it wears off. We recommend it be applied after each professional upholstery cleaning.

Q. Can you remove odors from furniture?

A. Yes! The most common odors we encounter are from urine and smoke. We use techniques that remove the odor completely. We even guarantee it! If you still notice the odor after our treatment, we’ll come back and retreat it at no extra cost!

We clean outdoor furniture too!

Q. How well can you remove upholstery stains?

A. Over the years we have successfully removed thousands of upholstery stains from every possible source. Ink, spaghetti, red wine, ketchup, grease, water rings, milk, and well, you get the idea. When it comes to removing stains, it’s all about chemistry. The wrong chemical could make a removable stain permanent. So if something spilled, don’t put soap, window cleaner, salt, club soda, or carpet cleaning solution on it! If it doesn’t come off with plain cold water, leave it; and give us a call.
